More on the Slab

Good afternoon!  I thought I'd add some pictures of the equipment used to pour the slab.  It was truly an awesome sight.

There was a huge truck....

with a "crane" on it...

It slowly unfolded, rising high in the sky.  Then, it snaked over to the area to be filled.  There, a crew member was waiting to grab the "hose" (looked like an elephant's nose to me) and guided it over the rebar.

As that was happening, other crew members were smoothing the concrete.

When all the concrete had been poured, the "crane" rose up high and began folding down until it looked like this...

This was the first time I had observed a slab being poured and I thought it was really exciting.

Even more exciting is the fact that the lumber is to be delivered next week and hopefully the framing begins!

See you then!

Betty,

I wish Kyle could have been there. It was totally awesome, and he would have loved it. As a matter of fact, I thought to myself, "Wow, this is the kind of thing little boys would love to see also."
Love, Aunt Joye
